Use the below guide to see if your iPod or iPhone needs to be repaired:
1. Screen/Touchscreen
-Cracked display making it impossible to read all the text.
-Blue 'ink spill' stain on screen.
-No text just backlight working.
-Touchscreen “touch” function not responding
2. Hard Drive
-Sad iPod logo on screen - if you can't put it into disk mode to restore it then it is usually harware.
-Big red “X” in a circle
-Folder and ! on screen (which can't be fixed with restore).
-Apple logo + clicking/whirring or constant rebooting.
-36 error when attempting to load music from iTunes.
-iPod skips through songs.
3. Logic Board
-iPod wont connect to computer (but works normally in every other aspect).
-No signs of life at all even if connected to power.
4. Battery
-iPod only lasts for a short while after charging.
-iPod works fine when connected to power but dies when isn't.
5. Click wheel
-Buttons or scroll action not responding
6. Headphone jack assembly
-Sound from only one headphone or only get sound when headphone plug is held in a certain position.
7. Unknown problems or multiple problems?
