Portable FM products are devices that attach to your iPod and wirelessly transmit your music via FM radio signals to a radio, HiFi etc. They normally draw power from your iPod. They have been designed in such a way that you can use them while walking around with your iPod which means you can use them around the house, from room to room, or take them to a friends party or house or even the gym.
These products can also be used in the car, but they will not produce as high quality a signal as dedicated In-Car FM solutions. Some portable solutions come with a car charger and are designed to work in the car and around the house.
