HELP! MY IPOD IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY!!!

It is very rare that you should experience problems with your iPod unless it has been dropped or exposed to stress such as being sat on or left in direct sunlight for an extended period. Very often, simply resetting your iPod or restoring it should bring it back to life and get rid of any glitches. The Apple web site is your best source for assistance as indicated in all the links we show you below.

1. Preparation

Get your serial number of your iPod. Where do I find my serial number? You will need this to verify that you purchased the iPod from us or an authorised Apple reseller.

Make sure your iPod is registered online.You can do that here.

2. Documentation

You may be operating your iPod incorrectly. You can check this by downloading the latest documentation for your particular iPod over here. Make sure you read the manual to ensure you are not doing something incorrect.

3. Help yourself!

Try the Five R's Assistant (Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall & Restore) as this solves 80% of all issues - Follow the steps in the order indicated in the Assistant. Complete them one by one and stop as soon as the issue is resolved. Before you begin, please make sure your iPod is fully charged and then toggle the Hold switch on and off.

If you have reviewed the articles on the website, and tried out the advice there and you're still not sure whether your iPod requires service, you must take your iPod to whom you bought it from for further diagnosis or repair. If no longer under 1 year wrranty, you may be charged a diagnostic fee.
